Green leafy vegetables are beneficial to healthy skin

 As children, we often heard how important it was to eat our greens so we could be strong and healthy. But what they didn’t tell us was that eating green leafy vegetables would help our skin become happier and healthier.

Most leafy green vegetables contain Vitamin E, Folate, and Beta-carotene. These nutrients aid in helping the skin fight free radicals, renew and repair skin, and help produce and maintain new cells. Greens also contain Vitamin A which can help flush out toxins and fight against breakouts by helping control sebum production. Greens also help reduce inflammation and alkalize the body for less breakouts and happier skin.

It can be difficult getting in enough green veggies even as adults. Adding green veggies to each meal can be helpful in trying to increase your daily intake. Another way to add more green veggies to your diet is by adding them to your smoothies.

ULTIMATE GREEN SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS

non dairy milk to preferred consistency sugar free (read label)

1 c. fresh spinach

1/2 avocado

handful frozen strawberries or bluebrries

1 Tbsp. chia seeds

1/4 tsp. cinnamon

liquid stevia to taste (taste first. Add accordingly.)

2x dropper of chlorophyll

Optional: Protein Powder of choice


DIRECTIONS

Throw everything into your blender until smooth.

Adjust flavor with liquid stevia.
