HERBAL USES FOR SAGE TEA

Sage tea. Mummm um! It is so sedative and cleansing. This herb is packed with medicinal qualities and spiritual tune-ups. Traditionally it was used to treat fevers and colds, as well as a natural calming tea to help people get to sleep easier.
What’s it good for:
- helps kill bacteria and fungal infections
- a highly effective antioxidant, soothing indigestion and symptoms associated with it
- great for oral health: make the tea and use as a mouthwash (fight off cankers, gum disease and sore throats)
- excellent natural disinfectant and deodorizer, drying perspiration and helping to eliminate body odour
- used to relieve hot flashes during menopause- big time!
- aids in regulating menstrual flow
- improving memory and concentration
- rebalancing nervous exhaustion + fatigue associated
It should be avoided during pregnancy and lactation. And as with anything new, always start small. I usually have a couple cups a week, not more. I like to let it brew for about 15 minutes so its medicinal qualities are really extracted from the tea. Always check with your health care provider before consuming something new.
Sore-throat gargle
Put a large pinch of dried sage leaves into about a half cup (100 mL) of water. Bring to a boil and infuse for 15 minutes. Strain, sweeten with honey and use as a gargle twice a day.
