NUTRIENTS FOR DRY SKIN

Do you have dry skin? If you don’t know if you have dry skin, wash your skin and wait two hours before applying any products. If you are left with tight, flaking, red, or ashy skin, you are more than likely dealing with dry skin.

When experiencing dry skin, it is important to remember that less is more when it comes to products you use. Simplifying your skincare routine can be helpful in combating dry skin. No harsh chemicals, fragrances, over exfoliation and aggressive skin care treatments. Focus on using a gentle cleanser or an oil cleanser like our Liquid Gold, a Facial Toner, and a hydrating moisturizer.

Along with simplifying your skincare ritual, it can be so beneficial to take a look at your diet. Be mindful of what you eat + drink that dehydrates your skin. This includes boxed and bagged foods, caffeine, alcohol, consuming a lot of “Dry” goods like crackers, cereal, chips, etc. Up the intake of water, coconut water, herbal teas and healthy fats.

Focus on getting more nutrients like:

  • vitamin A
  • vitamin C
  • vitamin D
  • vitamin E
  • zinc
  • selenium

Not only do these nutrients help with dry skin, but they also can aid in wound healing, fight inflammation, combat acne, boost immunity, protect from UV rays, and more. Foods that contain these nutrients are whole foods like avocados, kiwi, sunflower seeds, tuna, green tea, and turmeric.
