Living in Canada allows us the luxury of experiencing all of the seasons. As amazing as it is, our skin isn't always a fan. Whether you experience super dry skin, eczema, breakouts, excess oil, or other imbalances of this nature… you know what I’m talking about’.

There are some things you can do to balance the inside, (where it all starts) to make this transition more of a pleasant one. It's great to practice these transitional routines at each season's change, until it's fully that season.

Here are some delicious foods to make sure you add into your diets for juicy skin, hair and nails!

Fish- why? Fatty fish such as salmon, herring, tuna, and trout contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which help retain moisture and strengthen your skin.

Nuts- why? rich in vitamin E, a skincare savior and super skin healer. TIP- I put straight up vitamin E on anything that needs to heal quick- acne scars, curling iron burn, + around my eyes each night to fight the wrinkles y'all.

Avocado- why? Because all of those good, juicy, healthy fats make your skin glow! PLUS they are mega inflammation fighters, and less inflammation means less breakouts, less redness, more balance! Add these to your morning eggs for a super blood balancing meal.

Sweet Potato- why? This yummy bad boy is packed with Beta-carotene, which converts to vitamin A in our bodies. Vitamin A is beneficial for repairing skin damage, and also helps the skin heal quickly. Add this, and frankly, all of the other veggies that are orange and yellow to put these benefits in your bad-ass body.

Olive Oil- why? Its packed with anti-aging antioxidants and hydrating squalene, making everything shine. TIP: Before I wash my hair once a week, I slather olive oil on the ends and brush through-out (not too much at scalp), leave on while I do chores (30minutes) and wash out.

Cucumbers- why? Cucumber is made of 96 percent water. That spells hydration, hydration and hydration. HELLO!? It’s a naturally cooling food if you are someone that has a hot constitution. If you notice your face is always running a bit red, or the same rashes are coming up, try adding more cooling cucumber to your diet.

Collagen- why? As we get older, our production of collagen declines, making fine lines, loose skin and dryness a little more apparent. If we add a clean source of collagen to our diets, this power food will promote glowing skin and is an essential protein for maintaining skin elasticity and also joint mobility. Keep your youthful glow with the Lunah collagen, also chock full of a whack of antioxidants. Check out the list of benefits here. [currently unavailable]

Matcha- why? It is an antioxidant powerhouse. Add it to smoothies, raw baked goods, and warm teas. Antioxidants fight the aging game!

Apple Cider Vinegar- why? Graceful aging starts with a healthy gut and microbiome. If your gut is off balance, then you are not absorbing or assimilating all of the goodies you're eating. An imbalance may be contributing to an overgrowth of bad bacteria, leaky gut, and other types of inflammation. Take a shot of it in water, first thing up rising, and you will start to see the heal-all benefits of this acne- clearing, gut supporting, super food.
